NO DICEY

© 2002 Mark Robert Gates

I wandered life like a golf course
Looking for a shot to put,
Thinking all I need is to use the force,
Leading with the wrong foot,
Getting artic chill fit for a Norse.

Then a beautiful thing
Happened to me along the way!
I met you! You met me!
We met true! We met we!
And now I have no worries
About who is going to stay!
Now I am no longer allowed to tell you no,
Unless, except,
Or if you ask me if I want you to go.

You fill up my future, my life,
All of my momentous awakening,
With the drum and bugle came the fife,
Distance between us forsakening,
Feeling you in my heart screams wife.

Then a beautiful thing
Happened to me along the way!
I met you! You met me!
We met true! We met we!
And now I have no worries
About who is going to stay!
Now I am no longer allowed to tell you no,
Unless, except,
Or if you ask me if I want you to go.

Everything about you
Reaches out and soothes me.
Being near you is my favorite aromatherapy,
No odor from you so strong I would not near be,
No pheromones needed to make me happy,
It’s not from dependence
On the physical that I’m not free.

Then a beautiful thing
Happened to me along the way!
I met you! You met me!
We met true! We met we!
And now I have no worries
About who is going to stay!
Now I am no longer allowed to tell you no,
Unless, except,
Or if you ask me if I want you to go.
